Eye verification equipment to be set up in all ration shops!

Presently, in Point of Sales (PoS) equipment is used in the ration shops where fingerprints of the citizen are registered and after verification, the items are distributed.
The term of the present private agency which had been given the contract for the integrated use of the computerization from the year 2016 had concluded in the year 2021. At that period, the contract was extended for 2 more years.
However, as there is an inordinate delay in getting the approval to check the fingerprints, the buying citizens are put to hardship!
To prevent his aspect, the order for implementing the second phase of the computerization implementing the verification of the pupils (eyes) has been given to the same private agency.
As per this, the task of setting up the pupil-checking equipment in the rations hops is set to commence in January 2024. It has been planned to complete the installation of the pupil-check equipment in all the ration shops in Tamil Nadu in gradual progress.
