Tangedcos new idea to avoid electrical shock and damage to appliances etc is grabbing the attention now!!

It is obvious that during the monsoon season there would be power disruptions. Taking this into account, now Tangedco has instructed both domestic and other LT consumers to install some electric circuit breaking devices attached to their service connections. This would be to avoid electric shocks or damage to the electric appliances etc. As per TNERC electrical distribution code, it is compulsory to install some electrical circuit breaker devices. The bitter fact is that many old buildings have not yet installed the breakers.
The awareness regarding the importance of electric circuit breakers is being spread now and this was according to some officers from Tangedco. It was later explained by an official that every day the appliances might generate induction when earthing is not proper and pass current to the person who is touching the appliance. He hinted that by installing circuit breakers like ELCB etc then the person would get safeguarded from the electric shocks etc.
