Termination of the contract – Rs. 150 crores traffic surveillance system

The government terminated the contract with the firm which was handling the Rs.150 crores traffic surveillance system with 600 cameras and 272 towers. The firm started the operation on January 2013 and has been delaying the integrated traffic management system (ITMS), so sources says that they have decided to terminate the contract.
However, a traffic expert says that it would be wise to take steps to fasten the work instead of terminating since they have completed most significant portions. After the completion of the project if any violation takes place, the concerned person will receive a traffic ticket to his residence.
