Kauvery Hospitals Strengthens Position as Second Largest Hospital Chain in Chennai with Fortis Healthcare Acquisition

Kauvery Hospitals, led by Dr. S Chandrakumar and Dr. S Manivannan, has finalized a deal to acquire the hospital operations of Fortis Healthcare Limited in Vadapalani, Chennai.
This acquisition adds a 200-bed facility to Kauvery`s network, bringing their total bed count in Chennai to over 750. The move aligns with Kauvery`s expansion strategy to have more than 1,000 beds in Chennai within the next 18 months.
Kauvery Hospitals aims to become the second-largest hospital chain in Chennai and plans to reach 1,000 beds each in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Tamil Nadu clusters by 2025. Their rapid growth may lead to an IPO within the next three years. With the addition of the Vadapalani facility, Kauvery will have a presence in seven cities across South India, comprising 15 hospitals with a total of 3,000+ beds. Furthermore, Kauvery intends to open two more hospitals in Tiruchy and Bengaluru during the current financial year.
