College students to be dismissed if they involve in notorious activities

In the recent times, college students have become very violent. To put an end to this a police officials convened a meeting with the management and students of New College, Presidency College, Nandanam Govt Arts College, Guru Nanak College and Pachiayappa’s College.
Joint Commissioner of Police K Shankar mentioned, “We wanted to sensitise the colleges on the issue. Whenever there is unruly behaviour by the students, the colleges must take serious note of it. Constant touch with the students will improve the situation. We wanted to avoid the situation where police will be forced to take action on the students.”
The unanimous view in the meeting was that only a minor section of students repeatedly court trouble. All the colleges agreed that they would dismiss the students who were found notorious for such activities. The colleges also agreed that they will not intervene in any legal action taken by the police over the behaviour of the students in public places.
