The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) announced today that it will implement paid parking at the Nanganallur Road Metro Station, following persistent parking issues faced by Metro passengers. The new parking lot, which opened recently, has a capacity to accommodate approximately 1,000 two-wheelers and 60 four-wheelers.
In a press note released by CMRL, it was stated that the parking lot had been experiencing challenges due to passengers parking their vehicles free of charge since April 28, 2023. To address this issue, CMRL has decided to introduce parking charges for the facility starting from June 1, 2023.
Passengers can now utilize the parking facility by making payments through the CMRL travel card or using digital payment modes. The introduction of paid parking aims to streamline vehicle parking at the Nanganallur Road Metro Station and ensure the availability of parking spaces for all Metro passengers.
