Commissioner J. Radhakrishnan Inspects Construction of New Bridges in Chennai

The Corporation Commissioner, J. Radhakrishnan, conducted an inspection of the construction of new bridges in Chennai yesterday.

On behalf of the Chennai Corporation, the old bridge across the Otteri Nalla Canal was removed at a cost of Rs. 43.46 crore on Stephenson Road. The purpose was to connect the Puliantoppu area to the Perambur Highway with a new high-level bridge of 282 meters in length and a width of 22.70 meters. The construction of this bridge is currently in progress.

Similarly, a new railway flyover with four lanes, spanning 678 meters above the Ganesapuram railway tunnel, is being built at a cost of Rs. 142 crore. The flyover will have a length and width of 15.20 meters in both directions.

During the inspection of the flyover works, Commissioner J. Radhakrishnan emphasized the importance of completing the construction with high quality and efficiency. He provided instructions to the officers in charge to ensure the timely completion of the flyover works.
