"Arrangements have been made to open savings accounts in the India Post Payments Bank, which functions under India Post, for students who are availing of the educational financial assistance given by the Department of Adi Dravidas Development.

Subsequently, special camps have been conducted over the last 10 days in several schools. Through these special camps, 2954 school students have opened savings accounts in the India Post Payments Bank.

For the remaining 18850 students who are yet to open their accounts, savings accounts will be opened and linked with Aadhar cards before March 25th.

As such, apart from attending the special camps, students/parents can also visit the nearest Post Office and discuss with the officer or the postman to get help in opening a new savings account in the India Post Payments Bank.

Using their cellphone numbers and Aadhar cards, students can register their fingerprints through the postman`s cellphone and open a savings account in the India Post Payments Bank."
