Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is set to inaugurate the newly constructed pavilions with modern facilities at the Chepauk Cricket Ground in Chennai today.
The event will take place at 5:30 pm and will be attended by Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and ICC Chairman Mann Srinivasan. The newly constructed seating area at the Chepakkam ground will be renamed as the former artiste Karunanidhi Stand.
It is estimated that more than 38,000 fans will be able to sit and watch cricket at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai after the opening of this stand. The 3rd ODI match between India and Australia is scheduled to be held at Chepauk on 22nd March, and fans will be allowed in the new stands during the tournament.
