Alert from CMWSSB: No drinking water supply in 7 locations in Chennai Metro City tomorrow: 18th March!

The Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has recently released a notification which mentions the major task of linking the drinking water main pipelines from Kurinji Nagar water reservoir pump pipelines with the main drinking water pipeline at the Santhi Colony-DSF Junction located at the Mount-Poonamallee High Road under the Chennai Ramapuram Expanded Drinking Water Project.
Due to this major work, the distribution of drinking water will be stopped in 7 zones from 6:00 AM on March 18th (Saturday) until 6:00 AM on March 19th. The affected areas include Ambattur, Anna Nagar, Teynampet, Kodambakkam, Valasaravakkam, Alandur, and Adyar. As such, the public is advised to save sufficient quantities of drinking water. In case of any emergency requirements, please visit the official website https://chennaimetrowater.tn.gov.in and book lorries for drinking water.
For areas without drinking water pipeline links or where the supplied water pressure is very low, drinking water will be supplied through water tanks and lorries will provide drinking water for the streets. In other areas, the drinking water supply will remain as usual!
