GPS will be fitted to all the autos in Chennai

The Tamilnadu Chief Minister Ms. J Jayalalitha has announced that global positioning system(GPS) and electronic digital printer will be fitted soon and that too at free of cost to Chennai autos. Further she added that autos will be giving receipts to the public which include the distance covered and the rate.
The government has agreed and fixed an amount of Rs.25.00 for 1.8Km and Rs.12 for every additional kilometer. for each and every additional kilometer, the price will be Rs 12. The waiting charge is Rs.3.50 for five minutes which comes to Rs. 42 each hour from 10.00 AM to 5.00 AM . During the night, the charges will be doubled.
