ALERT : Electricity Bills CANNOT BE PAID if the connection number is NOT linked with Aadhar!

The task of linking the Electricity Connection Number with the Aadhar Card is being expedited in the State of Tamil Nadu!
Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company (TANGEDCO) announced on the 6th of October last year that all the citizens availing the subsidy of consumption of the free first 100 units MUST link their Electricity Connection Numbers with their Aadhar Cards.
Special camps were conducted for this throughout Tamil Nadu in the 2811 TANGEDCO offices and citizens have been completing the task of linking their Electricity Connection numbers with their Aadhar cards!
With intensive awareness programmes conducted in this regard, 2,64 Crores of electricity connections have been linked with respective Aadhar cards so far!
As the deadline is on 15th February, TANGECO HAS UNDERTAKEN SENDING SMS (Short Message Service) to the consumers who have linked their Electricity Connection Numbers with their Aadhar Cards so far!
In this regard, Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for Electricity, Senthil Balaji shared:\" Time extension for this had been given 3 times so far! As such, the majority of the Power Consumers except a few citizens have linked their electricity connection numbers with their Aadhar Cards.
As time is available until 15th February, I believe that the balance citizens would also complete the task of linking their electricity connection numbers with their Aadhar Cards NOTE THAT THERE WOULD BE NO FURTHER EXTENSION FOR THIS PURPOSE!"
TANGEDCO OFFICIALS HAVE INFORMED IN THIS REGARD THAT THE POWER CONNECTION WILL BE DISCONNECTED ON FAILING TO LINK THE ELECTRICITY CONNECTION NUMBERS WITH THEIR AADHAR CARDS BEFORE THE GIVEN DEADLINE!
The officials explained that the TANGEDCO staff will visit the places where the above link has not been carried out and inform this status to the concerned consumers and insist on doing it immediately!
