Now, the residents belonging to north Chennai have got a reason to feel happy!!
In north Chennai to construct a new sports complex, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. MK. Stalin has given orders to allocate funds of Rs 9.70 crores.
An ordinance has been issued by the government of Tamil Nadu now. As per that, on 21st April 2022 at the Assembly the Chief minister Mr. MK. Stalin had announced that to encourage the youths in north Chennai a modern boxing complex would be constructed in north Chennai at a cost of Rs 10 crores.
The chief minister of Tamil Nadu had also announced that a modern gymnasium would be set up there with facilities for volleyball, basketball, boxing, kabbadi and other indoor sports etc. A detailed project report or DPR was prepared (for setting up of sports complex) by the Chennai Corporation and it was submitted to the government.
Explanations were given in the report regarding construction of a gym for men, indoor gym for women, playground for children, sports equipment and other facilities etc inside the sports complex.
It is learnt that the chief minister of Tamil Nadu has ordered for administrative permission to set up a sports complex with excellent sports facilities and infrastructure etc at an estimated cost of Rs 9.70 crores on a land owned by the corporation in Tondiarpet locality and to grant a subsidy of Rs 9.70 cr.
