The good news is the other hotels and food outlets around Amma canteen are also reducing their prices to lure more customers. Amma canteen is a huge hit and welcomed by poor and middle class which forms the major portions of Chennai.
Amma canteen is very clean and neat and the whole place is managed by women`s self help group (SHG). Poor people are now having tasty and clean food at affordable prices which was not possible before. Hats off to the government for bringing such a wonderful scheme which helps both the poor and middle class.
