Madras week this year , a grand start

Madrasapatnam, Chennapatnam, Madras and now it is popularly known as Chennai. This 4th metropolitan city in India was born on 1639 on Aug 22nd. Chennai is seeing lots of changes over time, and it is a prime city known for its rich culture and heritage. People who love this great city started to celebrate its birthday since 2005.
Madras week celebration has already started on Aug 15th and would be continued till the end of this month. Many organizers started exhibitions and traditional food festivals relevant to this city. Schools and colleges are organizing a quiz contest asking various questions about this mega city.
Organizers have planned heritage walks in prime areas, speeches by famous personality and talks about the significant landmarks and how they existed long back are all part of the Madras week.
