Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed us that a new low-pressure zone has formed over the Arabian Sea!
This new low-pressure zone has formed over the southeast Arabian Sea and its adjacent areas. As per the IMD report, this is likely to drift towards the west & northwest and weaken over the next 3 days.
As a low-pressure zone prevails, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning alert to the fishermen NOT to venture into the Sea in the east and the adjacent central-east Arabian Sea areas!
Meanwhile, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that this year`s northeast monsoon rainy season has yielded 15% more than the average rainfall!
The northeast monsoon rainy season, which commenced on 1st October, has caused 856 mm of rainfall until now! The average rainfall recorded during this period of the northeast monsoon rainy season is 736 mm.
Before the onset of cyclone Mandous, the rainfall recorded was less by 3% as compared to the average rainfall in this period! However, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that after Mandous, the recorded rainfall has increased by 16% as compared to the average!
