A mega medical camp was organised in Saidapet in south Chennai yesterday. It was inaugurated by the health minister of TN Mr. M. Subramanian. The camp saw more than 25 doctors and healthcare staffs etc.

At the mega medical cAmp, screening took place for many people for many infectious diseases and for other health issues etc. There was also a blood donation camp. It is noteworthy that the state health department has been organising mega medical camps to screen the residents for the infectious diseases as there have been seasonal changes. It is known that the seasonal changes would lead to  dengue, malaria etc.

To reduce the risk of outbreaks of diseases etc, the state health dept had planned screening of the symptomatic people on a preventive basis.  It has been revealed by the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine that no major outbreak of malaria, dengue or fever has been reported.

On Sunday, medical camps were conducted at Sholinganallur constituency and the state health minister made his presence felt there also. To ensure the reach of public welfare programmes and schemes, programmes are being organised.
