Unbelievable patronage record created by CMRL in September alone!!

The sensational piece of news that has come out now is that Chennai Metro Rail Limited or CMRL in the month of September 2022 has recorded an amazing increase of passenger footfall by more than 5lakhs than in the previous months. When compared to the 56.66 lakh commuters who travelled in the metro trains in Chennai in the month of August, about 61.12 lakhs passengers traveled in the metro trains in September.
As many as 2.45lakhs of passengers travelled in the metro trains on 30th of September and this was the record for the highest patronage flow. From the beginning of 2022 onwards, there has been a superb increase in the patronage in the metro trains in Chennai.
It is known that in the month of january 2022 25.19lakhs passengers used metro trains to reach their destinations in Chennai. In the span of 10months, CMRL was able to attract 35.93 lakhs more passengers through its awareness and discount programmes etc. In this year 2022, a total of 4.18 crore passengers have travelled to their destinations in the metro trains.
It must be noted that 4.98 lakhs passengers used QR Code facility and 38.23lakhs passengers used travel cards to travel in the metro trains.
