Free Booster Shot Scheme for 75 days concluded yesterday (30th September)!

`Free Booster Shot` Scheme, which was in progress for 75 days, concludes today (Saturday, 1st October). Henceforth, payment has to be made for getting the booster shot!
The Central Government commenced the `Free Booster Shot` Scheme as a part of the celebrations for the 75th Independence Day for the citizens in the age group 18-59.
Subsequently, all the government hospitals throughout the country administered Booster shots for all citizens in the age group 18-59!
As regards Tamil Nadu State, Free Booster Shot was administered daily in all the government hospitals and the weekly special Mega Camps!
The 75 dais period set by the Central Government concluded yesterday (Friday, 30th September).
From today, booster shots can be had at private hospitals on payment!
When enquiring in this regard with the Director of the Thamil Nadu Public Health Department, he shared:
"The Scheme of `Free Booster Shot` for citizens of the age group 18-59 has concluded. The appeal was made to the central government to extend this Free Booster Shot Scheme. However, there has been no response from the Central Government on this! As such, from today, booster shots can be had only at private hospitals on payment!
Henceforth, special camps will be conducted every Wednesday in all the Primary Health Centres, Regional Health Centres, District Head Government Hospitals, and special camps organized in Medical College Hospitals where 13 kinds of vaccines will be administered including the corona vaccine!
On all Wednesdays, vaccines including the corona vaccine would be administered for the citizens in the age group 12-17 in schools! On the other days, the corona vaccine will be administered in government hospitals.
Senior Citizens, above 60 years of age, can have a free booster shot in the Government Hospitals!"
