The public belonging to Tamil Nadu are now in a state of shock!!

From tomorrow onwards, the private milk prices would be increased by Rs 4 per litre.  This has made many to worry now. Every day, nearly 2.25crores litres of milk are being manufactured. Information is that Aavin procures 38.26 lakh litres of milk. Remaining milk is being procured by private companies belonging to Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Every day, Aavin sells 16.41litres of milk in sachets and 1.25crore litres of milk packets are being sold by private companies. In TN, Aavin accounts for just 16% of the milk production as well as selling and other private companies account for 84%. It has become a routine for the private companies to increase the price of milk and decrease the purchase price as many public as well as private establishments such as common public, restaurants, tea shops etc depend on these private companies.

It must not be forgotten that in 2020 the selling price of milk was increased by Rs 6 per litre. During the Coronavirus induced lockdown all the private milk companies reduced the purchase price by Rs 18 citing a slump in the sales of milk. It is true that the selling price of milk was not reduced.

In the months of February and in April in 2022, the price of milk and curd increased by Rs 4 per litre each. In this current year, this is the third time the price of private milk has been increased. From today onwards, Srinivasa Milk Company has increased the milk prices by Rs 2 per litre.

From tomorrow, Hudson Foods Private Ltd has announced that the prices of milk and curd would be increased by Rs 4 per litre. Now, a situation has come where prices of all milk related products would also increase.
