For a year there would be traffic diversion at Arcot Road in Chennai!!

One of the busiest roads in Chennai, Arcot Road is grabbing the attention of many now.
From Porur to Poonamallee Bypass Junction on the Poonamallee Trunk road, metro phase-2 works have been going on. To facilitate these works of CMRL, traffic diversion has been proposed at the Poonamallee Bypass. It was revealed by a notice from Avadi police commissionerate that traffic diversion would come into effect from 1st August till 15th September.
It is now said that all the incoming vehicles on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway moving towards Minjur at Poonamallee Bypass would take a left turn to Chennai ORR Service Road.
On the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway, the vehicles would move straight for nearly 200m and then take a left turn to the road running between the Chennai ORR elevated roads and reach Chennai ORR and then would travel to Minjur.
Information collected is that those vehicles coming from the Vandalur side on the Chennai ORR intending to go to Poonamallee and other places would take a left turn at Poonamallee Bypass and reach Chennai-Bengaluru Highway by Clover Leaf Bridge and then go further towards Poonamallee.
At the Poonamallee Bypass, the vehicles would not be allowed to turn left and the vehicles would move straight to Kolappancheri Toll Plaza and then would take a right U-Turn to reach Poonamallee.
