Metro Rail work Cracks on 152 year old Wesley church

The Chennai Metro Rail Limited CMRL) has checked out the cracks developed in the 152 years old CSI Wesley Tamil Aalayam at Broadway. They have stated that these damages are due to tunneling work carried out by the Chennai Metro Rail.
This Aalayam was constructed in the year 1861 and was graded “A”. These cracks were developed recently on Friday when the drilling work was done by the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) on the Mannady-Madras high court stretch. About five to six cracks each of 0.2 to 0.3mm were noticed.
