Traffic changes at Adyar, near Madhya Kailash, Anna Salai etc in Chennai from 4th June - Details here!!

There are many IT companies as well as entertainment centres present on the OMR and ECR roads in Chennai. These have been creating lots of traffic congestion. To reduce the traffic congestion, certain changes have been made and these would come into effect from 4th of June 2022 and would be there for another 10 days.
Various traffic changes are:
It must be noted that vehicles that use OMR Indra Nagar junction to go to Adyar would be going through OMR service road (located at the back side of Madhya Kailash) by turning left and would reach Sardar Patel Road. From there, the vehicles would pass through Gandhi Mandapam flyover and make a ‘U’ turn and then go through Sardar patel Road again to reach CPT to reach their respective destinations.
Vehicles that travel from OMR towards Adyar would have to take a right turn at Indra Nagar 2nd avenue (water tank road) and then pass through Indra Nagar first avenue junction to reach L.B. Road.
It is well known that traffic congestion at Anna Salai has been reduced by making Anna Salai- Dams Road as one way and Anna Salai- Thiru Vi Ka Junction also as one way. This superb change has been appreciated by many motorists. Recently, a study has been undertaken on the Anna Salai Smit Road Junction and for 10 days there would be changes in the traffic from 4th of June onwards.

Information gathered is that vehicles that would be coming from Spencer’s Junction could reach Whites Road through Smith Road. In the same way vehicles coming from Tower Clock would be able to reach Anna Salai through Pattulos Road. It is learnt that vehicles coming from Spencer’s Junction plus those vehicles coming from Pattulos Road would have to take U turn in front of the Raymonds Textile shop located just before Smit Road.
