More than half of the petitions under AMMA scheme disposed of

The AMMA (Assured Maximum Service to Marginal People in All Villages) Thittam has proved to be successful. Out of the 22.58 lakh petitions received, 13.84 lakhs have been addressed and disposed of. That is a whopping 61 per cent, a huge improvement since before the scheme was launched.
‘Through their petitions, people living in the rural areas had sought to access different welfare benefits of the State government. Many of them related to requests for old age pension… 61 per cent of the petitions had been disposed of. Rs. 340.82 crore had been spent on 10.18 lakh beneficiaries under social security schemes’, say officials.
