Sensational!! Army officers can do PhD by this association between SRMIST and DSSC!!

Army officers who have been dreaming about getting a doctorate degree would feel delighted as their dream would become a reality soon.
To provide migration facilities for Armed Forces Officers posted as faculty in DSSC or Defence Services Staffs College in Wellington, by SRMIST and then to the award of PhD in several programmes like disaster management, defence and strategic studies, economics, communication, cyber warfare, weapon technology etc, SRMIST of Kattankulathur has now associated with DSSC. Memorandum of understanding or MoU has been signed now between SRMIST and DSSC and this is making news.
It is well known that DSSC is an Armed Forces training institution under the Ministry of Defence. Important person who made his presence felt during the MoU was Commandant Lt General Mr. S. Mohan, AVSM, SM, VSM from DSSC side and VC of SRMIST Mr. Muthamizhchelvan and registrar Mr. S. Ponnuswamy etc from SRMIST side.
This would be the first time DSSC would be entering into a MoU with a private college and this was mentioned by Mr. S. Mohan. He added that by this association officers would be able to do PhD at SRMIST. More academic opportunities are being explored by DSSC at SRMIST now.
It was explained by the VC of SRMIST, Mr. Muthamizhchelvan that an agreement has been signed with National Defence Academy for out-boarded cadets with ARTARC to help the officers to pursue master’s programmes or doctoral programmes. He added that the officers at DSSC would be able to pursue master’s and doctoral programmes at SRMIST.
