It is not often we come across Chennai students offered huge salaries.

In Chennai, SRMIST or SRM Institute of Science and Technology has been producing many highly talented professionals who have become highly successful in their professional careers.

It is now brought out by SRMIST that one of its final year students has been offered a software development job in Amazon Germany for an annual salary of Rs 1 crore. Sounds Incredible right!!

In the campus interview, most companies recruit students belonging to IT related courses. It must be noted that Mr. Puranjay Mohan was a student from Electronics and Instrumentation course from this famous university. He is a specialist in Embedded Systems-Linux kernel development.

He spoke about how he was very much interested in joining the computer science course after completing his class 12 and how he got an electronics and instrumentation course at SRMIST. He added that software development was highly important in the present scenario and how he had learned that individually with a huge interest. It is learnt that he had developed a personal website also.

Dr. P. Sathyanarayan, pro-chancellor mentioned that last year 2 students got offers for Rs 50 lakhs each and how this year the highest offer has been Rs 1 crore per annum. Many top companies that took part in the campus recruitment at SRMIST were Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Paypal, TCS, Google, Siemens, Wipro, Philips, L & T constructions and Bank of America etc. More than 10000 students from SRMIST have got job offers and Mr. Puranjay Mohan has got the highest offer.

Every year, the placement opportunities have been increasing and this was according to Mr. T.R. Parivendhar, chancellor of SRMIST. He added that in 2019-20 nearly 7000 students from SRMIST got placement offers and it increased to 8000 last year. This year it has gone more than 10000 and that was sensational.
