Information regarding the number of medical seats etc to be allotted in round 1 counselling in TN!!

For the current academic year, on Wednesday the DME or Directorate of Medical Education has earmarked 9885 MBBS as well as BDS seats that are 7825 MBBS seats and2060 BDS seats. Under the All India quota, 856 MBBS seats and 30 BDS would be allotted. It is learnt that in the management quota in the self-financing colleges there would be a total of1742 seats out of those 1169 would be for MBBS and 573 for BDS course.
It was mentioned by some sources belonging to DME that 7527 seats would be taken up in the first phase of counselling. That would be 5800 seats in MBBS and 1457 in BDS. In the later rounds of counselling, the remaining seats would be filled up.
As per some officers it was confirmed that there were just 3 seats in BDS that were available in the self-financing colleges and 69% of the seats have been filled up as per reservation. It is worthy to note that according to the reservation 2250 seats for OC candidates, 1922 seats for BC candidates, 255 seats for BCM category, 1452 seats for MBC/DNC category, 1095 seats for SC category, 208 seats for SCA and 72 seats for Scheduled Tribe category have been filled up.
