Rain did not disappoint Chennaites

Clouds started hovering over Chennai last afternoon and also did not disappoint Chennaites. The city recorded 7.9mm of rain in an hour on Thursday evening. Heavy rains lashed the city and the suburbs for more than an hour. The suburbs recorded 11.2mm of rain between 7.15pm and 8.30pm. The metrological department says it is just the convection activity that caused the rains and the low pressure area that had formed in the head Bay of Bengal already passed last week. Today`s rain is due to the convection cloud activity. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
