Public celebrate Bhogi festival with enthusiasm burning old things!

With the celebration of the most important Tamil Festival, Pongal set to be celebrat6ed tomorrow (Friday, 14th January), the Bhogi festival is being celebrated today (Thursday, 13th January) by the public with great joy and enthusiasm!

On this occasion of the Bhogi Festival, the citizens took out the old items, places in front of the Main Entrance of the residences and lit them up! The children gathered around, shouting with enthusiasm and beating the drums!

As regards the Chennai Metro City, the citizens got up early today on the Bhogi Festival Day and gathered the old items such as old clothes, mats, etc., and lit them up! As such, the resultant smokes spread in the environment which is covered with the smoke spread!

Note an important feature – as the State Government of Tamil Nadu had appealed to the Public not to burn plastic items which pollute the environment very adversely, the Public has responded to this appeal and has avoided burning plastic items and tyres, etc.!
