The Directorate of Government Examinations or DGE has made it clear that the answer sheets of the students of classes 10 and 12 revision examinations should not be evaluated in their own schools.
For this academic year, from 1st of September 2021, schools have re-opened for the students belonging to the classes 9 to 12 in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is known that the schools were closed till 1st September to control the spread of Coronavirus infection. Students were learning mostly by online mode only is a known fact. The shortage of time has led to reduction in the syllabuses of the students appearing for the board exams.
The board or public exams were not held for the last 2 years and due to this the students would be having some fear regarding the board examinations. To help these students to overcome the fear of board exams, it was decided that revision examinations would be conducted for the students. The DGE has even announced an examination schedule for the revision examinations.
From 24th December till 2nd January, half yearly vacations were announced for the students. The rapid spreading of Omicron variant has led to non-functioning of direct physical classes up to 10th January for the students from classes 1 to 8.It must be noted that the TN government has given permission for direct physical classes at the schools for those students belonging to classes 10 to 12 because these students would be appearing for the public examinations. It is now revealed that the DGE has issued advice regarding the evaluation of answer sheets of the revision examinations.
From 19th of January 2022 onwards first revision examination would take place for the students belonging to class 12. It is now said that the evaluation of the answer sheets must not be carried out in their schools itself. The DGE has issued orders stating that the evaluation of the answer sheets must be carried out by distributing the answer sheets of the students to other schools.
After completion of each revision exam, the schools have been asked to submit the answer sheets at a specific place that has been allotted.
