Vandalur to get one horned rhino?

The Arignar Anna Zoological Park does not have the great Indian one horned rhinosaurus. Better known as the Vandalur Zoo, this facility is the second biggest in India.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa had written to Assam to send a pair of the species, but has not received a response. ‘(We have) not received reply from the Assam government. We are awaiting a response from them. This is likely to be discussed at a meeting scheduled for Wednesday at Vandalur zoo… However, as regards exchange of endangered species among zoos within the country, the states concerned will have to get the consent from the Central Zoo Authority. The Assam government might reply after getting consent from the CZA’, said government sources.
