The students are getting used to the direct physical classes in their colleges now in Tamil Nadu. The recent threat due to the Omicron variant is creating lots of issues now for many especially for the students of schools and colleges. The new variant cases are increasing every day.

The AICTE or All India Council for Technical Education has now instructed all the technical institutions to decide on their own whether to go on with the physical classes or offline or to begin online classes. .

In case of another wave, AICTE has instructed the technical institutions to be prepared to conduct online classes and virtual examinations etc. Mr. Rajive Kumar, AICTE member secretary has sent a circular to all the vice-chancellors and principals of the technical institutions including engineering and polytechnic colleges. It is known that the governments main objective was to prevent the spread of Coronavirus and its variants.

The circular also mentioned that the institutions could take decisions on opening campuses to conduct classes and examinations in offline, online or in blended mode as per the guidelines. It is important to maintain strict Covid-19 protocols in the institutions to prevent the spreading of the infection.  Mr. Rajive Kumar has given instructions to all the institutions to follow all the standard operating procedures or SOPs issued by the government or by authorities without fail. It is learnt that AICTE would be constantly monitoring the academic activities in the institutions that come under its purview. Information is that AICTE would issue appropriate guidelines regularly with respect to online classes etc.
