Traffic diversions due to water logging

Present status of traffic in Chennai Metro City following the persistent downpour of the monsoon rainy season!

A notification has been released on the latest traffic status in Chennai Metro City:

 Subways closed because of heavy rains:

·        Vyasarpadi subway

·        Madley Road subway

·        Kaakkan subway (Moolakkothalam- Korukkuppettai)

Traffic changes due to flooding of roads:

·        Vehicles proceeding from Perambur Barracks Road-Stragans Road ARE NOT PERMITTED TO MOVE VIA Pulianthope Police Station (Aarthi Apartments). These vehicles have to proceed via diverted route Stragans Road-Pulainathope High Road.

·        There is stagnation of water near the Nasarathoet Court. However, there is no change in traffic.

·        As there is water stagnation in the 70’ road near the R-5 Peravallur Police Station, traffic is diverted.

·        There is water stagnation in the section of D’Mellow’s Road-Pulianthope Highway. However, there is no traffic diversion.

Trenched on the Road

·        There is a trench in Thirumalaippillai Road, T Nagar, in front of Kamarajar Illam. So, vehicles are NOT permitted to move towards Valluvar Kottam from this road. The vehicles are diverted to the Vani Mahal-Benz Park Junction. However, the vehicles proceeding from Valluvar Kottam to Vani Mahal can go via Thirumalaippillai Road.
