A 15-day-old boy baby was found abandoned on a local train plying between Beach and Tambaram on Wednesday night. Acting on information from passengers, GRP personnel rushed to EMU, which was about to depart for the EMU shed for maintenance at 10.30 pm and found a baby lying silently. Since the child was weak, it was admitted to the Chromepet Government Hospital for treatment.
The police have not registered a case. One of the police official said that the baby would be taken care of by the child welfare organisation, which may also give it for adoption through the legal means
