Electricity Department releases guidelines for citizens on how to escape/avoid electricity accidents!

With the onset of the Northeast Monsoon Rainy Season, TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation) has released the guidelines for the citizens to prevent getting involved in electrical accidents.
It is mentioned:
- During the windy/rainy periods, DO NOT GO near the electric poles, transformers, wires/cables, junction/distribution boxes and stay wires!
- If spotting broken electric wires/cables, PLEASE DO NOT GO NEAR OT ROUCH! Inform the TANGEDCO officials immediately!
- During lightning or thunder, DO NOT Stand under trees and DO NOT VENTURE INTO OPEN AIR! During this period, avoid using electric equipment/gadgets.
- If any water leakage is detected in the house during rain, please cut off electricity in that section of the house!
- Ensure fixing an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) near the main service connection to prevent electricity accidents!
- Do not operate switched with wet hands!
- Use only 3-pin plugs/sockets arrangement with earth connection for all-electric equipment!
- Avoid tying cattle on the electric poles!
- Do not use the electric poles for advertisement displays!
- During construction of buildings, ensure sufficient gaps and then only commence construction!
- Ensure contacting TANGEDCO personnel before taking out Chariots/procession of the deities from the temples!
- Avoid hanging/tying illumination decoration wires on green trees and iron grills!
