The school education minister of TN, Mr, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi mentioned that no decision has been taken till now regarding reopening of the schools for the classes 1 to 8.

It is known that classes from 9 to 12 have resumed in TN schools and many talks have been going on to resume classes for the students of 1 to 8 in the private schools now. The minister made his presence felt in Coimbatore and he discussed the reopening of private schools with the authorities. The arrangements were made by the Confederation of Indian industries or CII in Coimbatore. With the management of the private school in Coimbatore, the school education minister discussed about the functioning of private schools, safety procedures etc during the Coronavirus infection pandemic.

Later, the minister met press persons and he spoke about how the private schools have been affected financially due to the pandemic. He then threw light on the difficulties faced by the private school teachers. He added that the expectations vary from one person to another. It is learnt that the school education minister would be having discussions with the higher officials to provide solutions for the requests made by private schools. Truth is that still no decision has been taken regarding reopening of schools for classes 1 to 8 in Tamil Nadu. The discussions regarding resuming schools for these classes have been going on and the chief minister would be informed about this.

It must be noted that in the meeting held in Coimbatore managements of private schools want schools to resume for classes 1 to 8 now. The parents still have fear regarding the spread of Covid-19 infection and due to this the reopening of schools for classes1 to 8 has not been decided.

The schools must not force students to attend physical classes and the schools must inform immediately if any student shows signs of Covid-1i9 infection. Depending on measures taken to control the Covid-19 spread only, the next level decision would be taken. The school education minister concluded that for the sake of the NEET examination protests would continue by the government of Tamil Nadu.
