Indian Railway is second largest network in world. Time and again special importance has been given for passenger amenities’. In the earlier days a person who wants to reserve a berth or seat in a train has to wait for hours together in the long queues.
Those days are gone and now you can book a seat or berth on the Indian Railway website at your convenience. Another important matter in a long journey is food. Currently you have to eat the food supplied the Railways. You don’t have the option to eat the food of your choice. Now you can have your choicest food whether it is Pizza or Biryani at your confirmed berth. Railways are making necessary arrangements for this. What you have to do is go to the Railway website and choose you food by registering your journey details including berth No. The food will be delivered in your berth. You can pay the money after your food is delivered. This new innovative system is being initially introduced in Delhi-Jammu-Delhi- Amritsar sector. Later on this service will be introduced step by step in other sectors also.
Passengers traveling by super fast trains like Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express and Duronto Express are not eligible for this service because the charges for the food are collected along with the ticket fare.
