Maintenance work at the Nemmeli desalination plant will not affect drinking supply say Metro Water officials. The water from the plant is supplied to areas in South Chennai such as Kotivakkam, Palavakkam, Thiruvanmiyur, Mylapore, Nandanam, Velachery and Okkiyam – Thoraipakkam.
‘Maintenance work at Nemmeli desalination plant will not affect supply of drinking water to residents. Maintenance work at the plant is being taken up in a phased manner once every week. The first phase of maintenance will be completed on Tuesday afternoon. Drinking water supply would not be interrupted during this period. Water would be supplied through other sources’, said an official statement.
