Change in electricity tariff

In the tariff released by Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC), there is a note made on the temporary power supply for construction needs.
According to the new tariff, the consumer will be charged only with the existing tariff amount for constructions done within the consumer’s premises, up to 2000 sq. ft.
As per the above pricing, the charge will range between Rs 1.10 to Rs 5.75 for one unit. Before the renewal of tariff, the price was nearly Rs 7 to Rs 10.50 and the consumer had to pay an additional charge of Rs 100 for each KW used in a day. And this was given the name – Monthly Minimum Charges.
