Delay in Thirumangalam flyover construction

The Thirumangalam flyover on Inner Ring Road will now be completed in September. An earlier deadline was to be April but that was not to be. The flyover will go over the junction of Mogappair Road and Anna Nagar 2nd Avenue.
‘Construction has picked up pace over the last few months. The corporation has finished shifting storm water drains and the electricity board moved all utility cables. We plan to open the flyover by September. Even the traffic police took a long time to divert traffic and give us space for construction… Close to 2,000 square metres of land is required. Though the process has begun, we haven`t got hold of any… Five decks are yet to be constructed," said the engineer. Four of the five decks are pre-cast while one will be constructed on site. About 70% of the construction is over’, said an official.
