What is happening now regarding reopening of schools in Chennai and TN?

From last year onwards, the schools have been closed in the state of TN due to the threat of Coronavirus infection. The students have been learning through online mode of education is well known.
Today, 17th August 2021, the school education minister Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi would be taking part in the discussion regarding the reopening of schools on 1st of September. There would also be some discussion regarding increasing the quality of education in the schools in TN.
It is true that ICMR or Indian Council for Medical Research has asked the states to reopen the schools and conduct direct physical classes for the students. The TN government had decided to reopen schools for classes 9 to 12 from 1st of September.
Information is that today the school education minister would be involved in discussion about schools reopening plus uplifting the quality of education in the government schools in TN. The meeting between the school education minister and various school education officers would take place today from 10am to 4pm. The meeting would have all district chief education officers, plus district education officers, joint directors etc taking part. It has been mentioned that the principal secretary of school education Kakarla Usha and Commissioner Mr. Nandhakumar would be taking part in the discussion meeting and they would be getting the opinions from the education officers.
Point to be noted is that the school education department has made necessary arrangements regarding reopening of the schools on 1st of September and has kept ready the guidelines regarding conducting direct physical classes for the students.
