Further extension in the lock down in TN - Schools to reopen for students

The chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin has mentioned that the lock down would be extended further for another 2 weeks till 23rd of August in the state of Tamil Nadu. This would be mainly because of Covid-19 infection pandemic.

The TN government has now made it clear that the schools for the students belonging to the classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 would reopen from 1st of September. Meeting took place at the Secretariat between the chief minister and various health experts regarding the intensity of the Coronavirus infection. The present lockdown would be there till 6am on 9th August and it has been announced that the lock down has been extended for another 2 weeks till 23rd of August 2021.

All places of worship like Temples, Churches and Mosques etc would be shut down on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This would be done to avoid huge gatherings of the public.

From 1st of September, the schools would be reopened for the students belonging to the classes 9 to 12 with 50percent seating capacity and standard operating procedures or SOP would be followed strictly. It has been instructed that preliminary action must be taken by the school education department. From 16th of August, medical colleges and other medical related institutions including Nursing etc would be reopened for the students.

The Department of Medicine and Public Welfare would be releasing a comprehensive guidance system soon. It is worthy to mention here that the Covid-19 vaccination has been given to the students studying and the teachers belonging to the medical colleges under the medical staff category.

Local systems have been given orders to make sure that the huge gatherings of people are avoided at various meat and fish markets and the shops must be separated and do their business in an open environment.
