Amma veggie shops in the evenings too

From Thursday, the newly opened Amma vegetable shops will sell fresh produce in the evenings as well.
‘The decision was taken following the request made by office goers. Several customers, especially office goers, were the sole reason behind the initiative as they felt it would be nice if they could get vegetables afresh in the evenings as they don’t find time to purchase in the mornings. Though we get regular supply from far off districts, the evening supply can only be received from nearby districts. Hence, we have tied up with primary agricultural co-operative societies in Arani (Tiruvallur), and Olakkur in (Villupuram). During initial stage, we will get supplies only from Arani… Only native species like all varieties of greens, besides brinjal (disco), drumstick, ladies finger, bananas and banana stem will be sold afresh in the evenings’, said an official.
