Nissan launches Micra in two variants

Nissan India launched two variants to its Micra model. The Micra is a hatchback and now comes in two options – New Micra and Micra Active. The petrol versions are priced at Rs. 4.79 lakhs and Rs. 3.50 lakhs respectively. The company had also launched its multi purpose vehicle Evalia last year, but it hasn’t done too well.
Speaking about the models, President and Chief Executive of Nissan India Kenichiro Yomura said, ‘We are in serious discussions (about a variant of the Evalia model)...we are not too far (from a refreshed version)… Approaching the fleet owners could also be one of the options to enhance volumes of the Evalia. On the two Micra variants, the company has set sales target of 2,500 units a month for the new models. Our total sales target for this fiscal is 1 lakh units.
‘Micra is a significant model for Nissan in this market. We expect the new models to serve wider range of customers.’
