Officials check the functionality of rainwater harvesting structures

With the aim of understanding the effectiveness of rainwater harvesting, the Chennai Metrowater is taking a survey at various parts of the Chennai city. This effort has yet another reason – it is to create awareness among the people about the importance of rainwater harvesting.
Under this campaign, the water agency is checking the various city areas. The process was begun on 1st July 2013. The officials took time to check the proper functioning of the harvesting procedures. In the Ambattur area alone, nearly 2500 buildings are surveyed as of now.
