Webinar on Action Steps for Lake Conservation

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Productivity (AIP) is the training wing of National Productivity Council (NPC) and is pleased to announce webinar on “Action Steps for Lake Conservation”.
As you are aware that lakes are essential part of ecosystem as they help to maintain the ecological balance and also serve as a fresh water source to neighbouring community and flora and fauna. In the process of urbanization, most of the lakes are either encroached or polluted with untreated wastewater and disposal of solid wastes.
In line with the theme of World Environment Day 2021 “Ecosystem Restoration”, the webinar is presented to create awareness among the society about the need, impacts and mitigatory measures to restore the polluted lakes.
Webinar Coverage:
This webinar is designed to understand the:
1. Need for lake conservation;
2. Policies and Guidelines for Lake Conservation;
3. Factors responsible for lake degradation;
4. Steps in lake restoration and conservation;
5. Environmental and social impact of lake restoration.

Speaker Profile
Dr. S S Shaha is an associate professor at KIT’s college of Engineering, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He has:
- More than 30 years of rich experience in teaching cum consultancy
- Conserved various lakes in India
- Is QCI accredited Functional Area Expert in field of Water Pollution, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management
- Has executed wastewater treatability studies, wastewater treatment plant adequacy for various types of industries
