Director Shankar is busy reading case files than scripts lately. Theres already a pending case thats going on in the Madras High Court. Now theres a new one.
The controversy if you didnt know is that Lyca Productions had filed a case on Shankar on not going ahead in making their ambitious project Indian-2. Last year when the shooting had started, an untoward accident caused the death of a technician on sets. After a while with the election season, Kamal Hassan got busy with his political campaigns.
Between all this Shankar announced two projects one with Telugu star Ram Charan and Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. As soon as the first project was announced Lyca Productions filed a case in the Madras High Court to which the court advised an out-of-the-court settlement. The next case was by Aascar Ravichandran who filed a case when Shankar announced the project with Ranveer Singh which is an adaptation of Anniyan.
The latest issue is that Lyca Productions has filed a case in a court in Hyderabad and requested the film chambers there to not allow Shankar to continue with the making of Ram Charans movie until Indian 2 is complete.
On that note, the latest update is that the Madras High Court has refused to accept Lyca Productions appeal to put a stay on Indian 2. The Judge has asked Shankar to file a statement by the next hearing.
