In Chennai, free auto services available for COVID tests and vaccination purposes

In this society, not everybody is selfish and there are also few people who help others and prove every now and then that humanity indeed exists. One such person who has been providing huge help for others in this difficult Covid-19 scenario is Mr. Blajai.
In one of the most important localities in Chennai, Triplicane, the residents there would not forget a person named Mr. V. Balaji or auto Balaji. This auto driver not only ferries poor patients free of cost but also provides grocery and other essential things for the Covid-19 patients at their doorsteps.
Mr. Balaji spoke about his experiences in the last one year. He mentioned that 90% of the passengers who had boarded his auto were Covid-19 positive patients. It must be noted that when someone boards his auto he first sees whether they wear facemasks or not and then provides free masks to them. To keep his passengers safe, he sanitises his auto frequently.
It is learnt that Mr. Balaji and another auto driver has been roped by Srinivasa Young men Association or SYMA for their free auto service to transport the residents belonging to Triplicane for vaccination, Covid-19 testing, for hospitalisation and discharge etc. The superb piece in information is that the auto drivers wear all safety gear while transporting the patients.
The free auto service for the Covid-19 patients began on Tuesday, 12th May 2021 and this idea was suggested by Mr. T.A. Sampathkumar, president. On the first day, as many as 11 patients were transported by the free auto service. It was stated by Mr. T.J. Rajamani, one of the founders of SYMA, the initiative was started because it was difficult for the people to get transport services during the total lockdown. Not many would be aware of the fact that SYMA was started in 1977 itself and it has been serving the people in several ways.
Information is that persons who need this free service can contact the medical centre at 044-2844050 between 7am and 7pm. The medical centre is present at 37 Car Street in Triplicane, Chennai. Superb great work!!
