The new TN State Govt School Education Minister has a meeting with concerned officials regarding +2 Public Exam!

The new Tamil Nadu State Government School education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi conducted a meeting on Monday (10th May) with officials on conducting the Class XII board exams.

The state government had postponed the Class XII exams that were scheduled to be held from 5th May 5 because of Covid-19 induced restrictions. Now, the government is planning to conduct Class XII board exams in June or July.

The State School Education Minister further said, "We have discussed various aspects of conducting the board exams. It concerns the future of students. Chief Minister M K Stalin thinks that students` health is most important. We will take a final decision after consulting with the CM."

"If the exams are conducted immediately, students might be the carriers of Covid-19 virus and infect others. The department will consult experts for the next two days before taking a final decision."

The Department of the Tamil Nadu State Government School Education is planning to hold consultation with others for the next two days. The state government also cancelled the exams for Class X students and is yet to decide on modalities for awarding marks.

The minister said, "We have asked the officials to compare other states on evaluating Class X students. We will decide whether to award marks based on internals or previous exams for Class X."

The bridge course for Classes I to IX on Kalvi TV was completed on May 10. The department will air the videos about doing worksheets from 11th May June. The officials said, "The worksheets will test the students` knowledge on a particular topic. The teachers will monitor the students whether they are watching these programmes and if possible collect the worksheets through WhatsApp."
