In the state of TN, there are about 37000 schools from primary class to middle class level and more than 27lakhs students get benefited. Oral instructions have been given to the headmasters of the government and government aided schools in TN to begin the new admission process with minimum teachers. Truth is that no official circular regarding new admissions has been sent to the schools in TN. This was as per a senior official from the school education department.
The Covid-19 infection pandemic is responsible for the poor turnout at the schools for admission to classes 1 to 9. Normalcy when restored would increase the speed of new admissions. On all weekdays, headmasters along with few teachers and administration staff would be available.
The senior official later spoke about how in 2020-21 more than 5lakh new admissions have been registered at the government schools. Many students joined government schools and the shift from private schools to government schools was due to the fact that many parents of private school students lost their jobs in the Coronavirus infection pandemic. Soon after the admissions, the students would receive textbooks, notebooks and school uniforms.
Admissions for class 9 would be based on an aptitude test and for class 11 admissions would start once the class 10 mark sheets were issued to the students. Truth is that even now there is some confusion regarding marks calculation for the students of class 10. Soon, the admissions to class 12 would begin. This was concluded by the senior official.
